Megan McNeill

I have completed a BEng in Chemical Engineering and an MSc in Renewable Energy Development. I previously worked in Australia and London before venturing up to Orkney to complete my MSc. Choosing to stay in Orkney, I started my role as Orkney’s Project Manager at Community Energy Scotland in 2018 and since then I’ve managed the project progress of SMILE, Surf ‘n’ Turf, BIG HIT, TraDER and I have overseen the expansion of the Orkney office as a result of CES’s role in the ReFLEX project. In my role I am responsible for managing project development and I work closely with the Head of Operations to streamline the Orkney office project functions.

Whilst working at CES I have come to understand the importance of ensuring that, when focusing on climate change, the energy transition has to be socially just and any proposed solutions have to be inclusive to all.  Whilst this is not always easy, CES helps to ensure this is at the forefront of any projects that are being delivered, something I am proud to be part of.

Whilst not in work you can often find me out and about in Orkney with my main love, Monty the dog.
