The Community Renewable Energy Support Programme (CRESP) is a Highlands & Islands Enterprise programme providing grant funding, support and advice for community-led renewable energy projects in the Highlands & Islands.

CRESP support and grant is delivered by Community Energy Scotland and can provide up to £40k or pre-development technical assistant grant to projects larger than 1MW. It is a three year programme ending on 31st July 2012.

Over recent years HIE has provided significant funding to communities developing wind and hydro projects and this support has enabled more than 18 communities to secure planning consent for over 33 MW of generation. This programme builds on this success, focusing on projects over 1MW.

Community Energy Scotland deliver support and grant to community energy projects through CRESP.

This fund is available to projects in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. Community Energy Scotland have six Development Officers based in the HIE area who provide support to CRESP projects.

In addition to grant support, Community Energy Scotland provide one-to-one support and practical advice to community groups, submit responses to consultations and attend knowledge exchange events and conferences.

Please contact your Local Development Officer if you would like further information on CRESP or to apply for CRESP funding.
