Urban Development Programme
The Urban grant funding scheme reopened on 1st April 2012 for the 2012-2013 programme. See how it could help you!
This scheme is available to not for profit organisations serving disadvantaged groups and communities in urban areas of Scotland. Support is available from a dedicated project officer to take your project from an idea to a fully complete project; with guidance on what to do, how to go about it and finding funding to make it happen. Organisations operating in areas identified in the top 20% on the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation are the main focus for this programme and those providing services to disadvantaged groups in towns and cities. This programme is supported by the Robertson Trust and the Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES). Funding and support for this programme is now available.
Our information leaflet on Sustainable Energy for Urban Communities is available here.
Sustainable energy projects provide numerous benefits such as: reducing energy consumption, cutting running costs, providing more comfortable community facilities, alleviating fuel poverty.
Projects include:
- Energy audits for community facilities
- Installations of renewable technologies (solar panels, heat pumps, wood fuelled heating systems, wind, hydro)
- Measures to improve energy efficiency (e.g. insulation, draught proofing, new lighting)
- Awareness raising and educational activities
