Annual General Meeting 2014
Our Annual General Meeting was held at Edinburgh Capital Hotel, Edinburgh on 26th November 2014. All members had been invited to attend and there was a good turn-out. The Chair, Carola Bell, and the Chief Executive Nicholas Gubbins, provided a brief summary of the charity's work in 2013/14 and further report was providing in Community Energy Scotland's Annual Review document. Copies of the company's Annual Accounts 2013/14 were also made available and duly approved by Members at the meeting.
Two of our Elected Directors stepped down at the AGM, David Cameron and Alis Ballance. Both Directors were formally thanked by the Chair on behalf of the Board and staff for their considerable contribution to work of the organisation over a number of years. Nomination papers had been sent to all our Full Members inviting them to put forward a director for election to the Community Energy Board. Two nominations for Elected Director were received, one submitted by Aigas Community Forest nominating Amanda Bryan and one from Huntly Development Trust nominating Donald Boyd. With two vacant Elected Director places on the board and two nominations submitted, this election was consequently uncontested and both Amanda and Donald were duly elected to the Board.
Both of our Co-opted Directors stepped down, Angus Hardie and Craig Campbell stepped as required under our constitution. Angus was duly co-opted once again at the AGM but after 5 years' service on the board Craig did not seek to be co-opted.
At the Board Meeting held immediately following the AGM a further Co-opted Director, Nigel Holmes, was appointed and office bearers confirmed.
The newly elected Community Energy Scotland board and office bearers are now confirmed as:
Elected Directors - Amanda Bryan, Carola Bell, David Newman, Donald Boyd and Gwen Barrell (Chair).
Co-opted Directors - Angus Hardie (Vice Chair) and Nigel Holmes.
