Joint Ventures

A Joint Venture (JV) project is one with two or more partners joining to take forward the renewable project together. One advantage in this model is that partners are able to access skills and finance that maybe outwith their own resources.

CES can offer free support and advice to any non profit organisation considering a joint venture proposal. This independent advice can cover all aspects from initial negotiation to how a joint venture will operate in the long term. We’ll discuss the key elements of risk, finance, control, responsibility and reward. We’re working with around 15 communities engaged in joint venture developments and CES is separately involved in 3 joint ventures through its trading subsidiary. This level of collective experience allows us to provide well grounded advice in a practical manner.  We’re not lawyers but can help you source funding and appoint suitably experienced lawyers to finalise any arrangement.

In addition we have secured a deal exclusively for CES Knowledge Exchange Members – allowing them access to up to two hours' of free legal advice.
